CRL (Mitcham) have recently been awarded 2 Lots on the Affinity Water Framework. The Lots are:
• Storage Asset Inspections & Reactive Maintenance, and
• Storage Asset Refurbishment

The storage assets are comprised of service reservoirs, water towers, contact tanks, treated water tanks and treatment process structures.

The frameworks commenced on the 24th of August and will run for a period of 5 years (with an option to extend for a further 3 years).

Affinity Water is the largest water-only supplier in the UK, supplying around 900 million litres of water to more than 3.6m people in parts of Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Surrey, the London Boroughs of Harrow and Hillingdon and parts of the London Boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Ealing and Enfield.

Affinity Water owns 260 storage assets, of which 188 are in-service and 72 out of commission. These assets are mostly constructed from reinforced concrete, with an average age of 67 years.

On the inspection framework, we are expecting to carry out upward of 15 inspections annually, and then undertake any works which are identified during the inspections and that need to be done prior to returning the reservoir, or water tower back into service.

The asset refurbishment framework will deal mainly with assets that have significant defects and then taken out of commission for major refurbishment The value of projects on this framework could vary from £50k to £500k.
